Starting to Warm Up

Saturday, January 15th, 2011

I am not a cold weather hanger like some I know.  I am more of a “fair weather” hanger.  I will mostly hang when riding my motorcycle and don’t normally ride long distances in extreme cold weather, so there is not a lot of hanging “goin on”.

Cracking Tie Down Line

I had a failure on the surgical tubing that went with by tarp lines.  Not sure why, but it cracked and then the tube let go and let the line escape from inside the tube.  Sent a note and photos to the guy that made them and he promptly replaced them.  The more I buy from the “cottage” industry guys, the more impressed I am.

Hope everyone has a great New Year.  Looking forward to my first full year hanging with my BlackBird.

Hanging in North Alabama

Wednesday, September 29th, 2010

I had a chance to head up to North Alabama, around the Huntsville area, for a week and really enjoyed putting my Warbonnet Blackbird up in the woods for the first time.  The Superfly tarp was easy to set up and offered great protection no matter what the weather decided to throw my way.

The amazing thing about hanging is, for me anyway, how comfortable I can get while in a hammock.  I have had back issues all my life, but their is something about the hammock that lulls me in to a nice nap…and with no back pain.

Hope you enjoy hanging as much as I do, and if you haven’t tried it yet…you don’t know what you are missing.

Still Hot, but Getting Better

Friday, August 27th, 2010

This has been one hot summer.  So much so, that you could not even think about laying around in a hammock in the Deep South.

Well, the weather is starting to turn cooler and can’t wait to try some of the goodies I have purchased over the summer months.  Especially, the Warbonnet Black Bird.

For a while I spent a lot of time on the Hammock Forum, but work has taken it toll on my time management to the point I have not been able to check-in  of late.  However, after Labor Day, my work schedule is back to normal and will once again I will have time for motorcycles and hammocks.

My Bird Has Landed

Friday, June 18th, 2010

After 4 weeks, from the original order date, my Warbonnet BlackBird (WBBB) hammock and Superfly tarp finally arrived.  Brandon at Warbonnet does a great job with the hammocks, but the waiting and not knowing of when your product will ship can make one a little anxious.

The reviews on the Hammock Forum was the reason I decided on the WBBB.  If you look at the forum, you will be hard pressed to find anyone who does not like the WBBB.  The Superfly tarp also has the same reputation.

Shortly after USPS delivered my new beauty, I had it hanging on the back deck.  The hammock and tarp were up in less than 10 minutes and  the weight is about half my original rig which is a ENO Doublenest and a Harbor Freight tarp.  The comfort level is great and the Superfly tarp protection is excellent.

Shortly, I will have some photos of my new toy…so stay tuned.
